As reported by the Center for the Development of Transport Systems of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in response to a request from the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," the temperature regime in the cabins of buses and other public transport is regulated in accordance with federal standards approved by the Ministry of Transport of Russia. According to the established requirements, when the average daily outdoor temperature is below +5 degrees, the temperature in the cabin must be no lower than +12 degrees. In warm weather, when the outdoor temperature is above +20 degrees, the transport should not be warmer than +25 degrees. The CRTS noted that such norms take into account both passenger comfort and the technical capabilities of heating and ventilation systems. The adjustment of heating power is carried out centrally, taking into account the current regulations and the characteristics of the vehicles. If it becomes too hot in the cabin, passengers are advised to ventilate the transport themselves – by opening windows or hatches, if provided for in the design.
