According to the specialist, despite the arrival of spring warmth, there is still a lot of snow in the region. Currently, there are places where the snow cover is almost half a meter thick, and it will decrease gradually — by about 2-3 centimeters. That is why the snow will finally melt only in the second half of April. At the same time, frost is expected in April, according to the forecast. However, as the meteorologist emphasized, they will not have a significant impact on the snow melting process. At the same time, the specialist warned of the risk of serious flooding in the event of a sharp warming. Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that during the spring flood period, 70 settlements in 29 municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod region could be at risk of flooding.
