      April 1st – International Bird Day

      April 1st is celebrated annually as International Bird Day — an ecological holiday dedicated to the problems of our feathered friends. This date is not chosen by chance: at the beginning of April, in most regions of the Northern Hemisphere, birds return from their wintering grounds, start building nests, and forming pairs. Angelina Guseva has been putting bird feed in the feeder all winter: seeds, pieces of bread, millet. It is interesting to observe from a distance how nimble sparrows, cute titmice, and even a red-breasted bullfinch sometimes come to the feeder. Sometimes, however, large gulls and crows attack the feeder, quickly driving away their smaller relatives and cleaning it out completely. By the way, the feeder was hung on a birch branch by Angelina's grandmother – Natalia Vasilyevna Rubchikova. She taught her granddaughter to care for feathered friends.
