Dmitry Chernyshenko and Vladimir Yakushev visited the Nizhny Novgorod IT campus "Neimark".
March 25, 2026 17:18 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, ahead of the reporting and program forum of the "United Russia" party titled "There is a Result!", Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, Secretary of the General Council of the party Vladimir Yakushev, Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, and Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Secretary of the regional branch of "United Russia" Gleb Nikitin visited the IT campus "Neimark". Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that a network of 25 world-class campuses is being created in the country on the instruction of President Vladimir Putin as part of the national project "Youth and Children". According to him, the Volga Federal District is among the leaders in the number of such facilities. The "Neimark" campus is designed to accommodate 7,000 study places and about 5,500 living spaces. "This is the flagship of education not only in Nizhny Novgorod but throughout the Volga Federal District," emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister. In September, 18 new hotels were opened on the campus territory, where students are already residing. The project is being implemented in collaboration with industrial partners.
Vladimir Yakushev reported that all 25 campuses are at different stages of implementation and should be completed by 2030. He added that the new infrastructure will allow for more active development of science and technology, as well as responding to modern technological challenges. Gleb Nikitin, in turn, emphasized that the region strives to create all conditions for unlocking the potential of young specialists. "The IT campus allows talented young people to receive high-quality education with the prospect of employment in the best technology companies in the country in their home region. Moreover, to attract talented people to work in the region, it is very important to offer education for their children. It is necessary to have a university here that people from all over the world aspire to attend. This is also an export project," stated the governor of Nizhny Novgorod.
During the visit, the guests attended a master class on 3D printing and interacted with students. Projects in the fields of telemetry, remote control, and mathematical modeling were presented, implemented in the interests of partner companies. This format of education, focused on solving practical tasks, contributes to the rapid acquisition of in-demand competencies. The delegations were also shown the residential and public spaces of the campus, where living, studying, and working conditions are combined. This model, as noted, enhances the effectiveness of the educational environment and interaction among project participants. The occupancy of the campus co-living spaces is taking place in stages. Currently, about 400 students in IT specialties are residing here, studying under the programs of the "Neimark" University, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University, Nizhny Novgorod State Architectural and Civil Engineering University, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after Alexeyev, and RANEPA. Within the next year, the construction of another co-living space on Gagarin Avenue for 1,492 places is planned. The creation of a network of modern campuses is being carried out as part of the national project "Youth and Children," initiated by the President of Russia. It includes nine federal projects, including "Russia — a Land of Opportunities," "We Are Together," and "Professionalism." Additionally, the years 2022-2031 have been declared the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia. Among its key tasks is attracting young specialists to the field of research and development and increasing the accessibility of scientific knowledge. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
