Welders in the Nizhny Novgorod region have had their salaries raised to nearly 180,000 rubles.

According to the "Avito Work" service, last winter the average proposed income for these specialists was 179,732 rubles per month, which is 59% higher than the figures for the same period last year. The growth in the number of vacancies is attributed by experts to the high demand for welders in various industries – from construction and machine engineering to the oil and gas and shipbuilding industries. An additional factor has been the modernization of production capacities at enterprises, which increases the need for qualified personnel. At the same time, the calculation included vacancies for specialists with work experience ranging from one to three years. The income level can vary significantly depending on qualifications, working conditions, region, and project specifics. Shift and rotational schedules are widely used in the industry, so the final earnings often depend on the number of shifts and the duration of the rotation. Among Russian regions, the leader in salary offers for welders in winter 2026 was the Tver region – an average of 211,263 rubles per month, which is 54% more than the previous year. Experts explain this by the active implementation of large infrastructure and industrial projects. The Murmansk region came in second with an indicator of 192,590 rubles (+49%). High salaries here are largely related to work in challenging climatic conditions, which implies additional compensations. The Leningrad region took third place, where welders are offered an average of 186,872 rubles per month (+42%). The region remains one of the key industrial centers of the country, ensuring stable demand for specialists. Next is the Sverdlovsk region – 181,257 rubles (+68%). The demand for welders here is driven by the development of metallurgy, machine engineering, and the construction sector. Closing the top five is the Pskov region with an average salary offer of 180,454 rubles, which is 52% higher than last year's figures. As noted by Andrey Kucherenkov, director of the "Avito Work" business direction, welders remain one of the key skilled trades. The salary growth is associated with the expansion of industrial and infrastructure projects, as well as increased competition among employers for qualified personnel. "Machine engineering, energy, and large-scale construction are developing, and employers are intensifying competition for specialists who can work with modern equipment and adhere to high safety standards," the expert emphasized. According to him, interest from job seekers is also increasing. Thus, in January-February 2026, the number of welder resumes grew by 73% compared to the same period last year. Kucherenkov added that in regions with special climatic conditions and rotational employment, offers become even more attractive due to additional payments and compensations.
