Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about the right to a pension for those who have not worked a single day.

March 22, 2026 16:16 Economy In Russia, even those who have not worked a single day can count on pension payments. This was reported by TASS, citing the head of the State Duma committee on labor, social policy, and veterans' affairs, Yaroslav Nilov. According to him, various circumstances in life may prevent a person from having work experience. In such cases, the deputy noted, upon reaching retirement age, the state still assigns a social pension. Nilov clarified that the social pension is provided later than the insurance pension—it begins to be paid five years later. The parliamentarian also emphasized that the state guarantees these citizens a minimum level of financial support. This includes the social pension itself and an additional payment that allows the income to reach the level of the subsistence minimum. Earlier, residents of Nizhny Novgorod were informed about the conditions for receiving an old-age pension in 2026. They also discussed whether it is possible to keep the money in case of an overpayment of the pension. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
