Nizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" lost to "Irbis" in a shootout — 1:2

      March 22, 2026 16:50 SportsNizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" once again lost to Kazan's "Irbis" — today's match at the Konovalенко Sports Palace ended with a score of 1:2. The hockey players suffered defeat in the shootout.

      The only goal into the opponent's net was scored by defender Leonid Gavrilov.

      "The hockey lottery was not on our side today. The guys showed character, came back during the match, and fought until the last second, but luck smiled on the opponent," commented representatives of the MHK on social media.

      Recall that the previous meeting between "Chaika" and "Irbis," which took place in Kazan on March 18, ended for the Nizhny Novgorod team with a crushing score of 4:1. After that game, our "youth team" fell into the play-in zone.

      The game on March 22 was the last in the regular championship for both teams.
