The Ministry of Digital Development has debunked the fake about the introduction of "white lists" for home internet.
March 21, 2026 16:55 Society Today, information has begun to spread on social media and in several media outlets that fixed internet providers are allegedly preparing to restrict access to services and leave users with only "whitelisted" sites. According to the Ministry of Digital Development, these reports are not true. The ministry explained that in response to security threats related to drones, mobile internet may indeed be selectively disabled in certain regions. Such measures, according to the agency, help reduce the accuracy of drone targeting and counteract attacks. At the same time, during mobile network outages, the "whitelist" continues to operate, which includes the most important and popular platforms and websites. It is formed in coordination with the authorities responsible for security. One of the key requirements for inclusion in the list is that all computing power must be located within Russia. However, these security measures do not affect home internet. Wired networks are not connected to the management of drones and are not used for attacks, so there are no plans to restrict their operation. Home internet in Russia remains unlimited, and the tariffs and service conditions are determined by the providers themselves. It is worth noting that several Nizhny Novgorod websites are also included in the "whitelist." NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
