      March 20, 2026 12:42 Incidents The court found the former head of the Department of Urban Development and Road Economy of the Semenovsky District Administration guilty. He was found to be involved in receiving a bribe, committed with extortion.

      A criminal case was initiated and investigated by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region based on materials from the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The actions of the defendant were qualified under paragraph "b" of part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

      As established by the investigation and the court, the official received money from a representative of a contracting organization. In return, he promised not to include the company in the register of unscrupulous suppliers. The case concerned a contractor who failed to complete work on the improvement of public space in Semenov under the concluded contracts.

      The court sentenced the former official to 9 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. In addition, he was fined 1.2 million rubles.

      The verdict has not yet entered into legal force, clarified the press service of the regional FSB.
