Electric scooters will officially return to Nizhny Novgorod on April 1.

The city hall explained that according to agreements made with scooter-sharing operators in 2025, the rental season lasts annually from April 1 to October 15. However, the dates may be changed based on a justified request from the operators. "So far, no such requests have been submitted for consideration to the administration of the city of Nizhny Novgorod," the municipality noted. In 2026, the authorities plan to review and supplement the list of streets with restrictions for personal mobility devices. Currently, there are 25 zones in Nizhny Novgorod with a complete ban on electric scooter movement. Additionally, speed limits have been set on 99 sections — up to 10, 15, and 20 km/h. It was previously reported that fines will be imposed for parking scooters on lawns in the regional center.
