A brutal beating in a store in Sarov has resulted in a criminal case.

      March 20, 2026 13:00 Incidents In Sarov, two local residents are accused of attempted murder. They are charged with attempted murder committed by a group of individuals out of hooligan motives, reported the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the investigation, on March 14, the men were in a store on Moskovskaya Street. The reason for the conflict was insignificant; however, investigators believe the accused acted out of hooligan motives. They beat a visitor, inflicting multiple blows with their hands and feet to the head and torso, after which they fled. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries. He received the necessary medical assistance. During operational-search activities, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the closed administrative-territorial formation of Sarov identified the perpetrators. Local residents born in 1985 and 2000 were detained and brought to the investigative authorities. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the attempted murder by the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region. Measures of restraint have been chosen for the defendants. A 40-year-old man has been taken into custody, while his 25-year-old accomplice is under house arrest.
