In Nizhny Novgorod schools, a decade dedicated to the lifting of the blockade has begun.
In educational organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a decade of unified actions has begun, dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade. Events are taking place for preschoolers, schoolchildren, college and technical school students. The program was developed by the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region in collaboration with the regional center "Vega," the Nizhny Novgorod center "Sphere," and the administrations of municipal entities. According to the Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov, many of the 500,000 students in the region are participating in the events. Within the framework of the decade, creative classes, thematic lessons, and educational actions aimed at familiarizing students with the history of the Fatherland and fostering patriotism are being held. The decade is being conducted in accordance with the plan for the implementation of educational activities by the Ministry of Education of Russia under the project "No Statute of Limitations." One of the first events was the annual regional online action "In the Name of Life," which started on January 21. Its operator is the Nizhny Novgorod center "Sphere." As part of the action, videos, articles, assignments, master classes, flash mobs, and quizzes about the besieged Leningrad are being published. There are also poetry contests "Blockade Lines" and essays "One Day in the Life of a Child." Details are posted in the "Patriot52" group on VKontakte. The regional center "Vega" invites Nizhny Novgorod residents aged 12 to 18 to participate in an online quiz that will take place on January 26-27. The results will be announced by January 30. The quiz questions cover the main events of the Leningrad blockade. Among the in-person events is the All-Russian memorial action "Blockade Bread," during which children in kindergartens and schools are given a symbolic piece of bread weighing 125 grams — the minimum norm in Leningrad during the winter of 1941-1942. Additionally, classes and lessons "Conversations about Important Things" dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and the Leningrad blockade will be held in schools. Meetings between students and historians are planned in colleges and technical schools.
Patriotic education of students is one of the priorities of the national project "Youth and Children," implemented in the country by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Within the framework of the national project, nine federal projects and programs are being implemented, including "Russia — a Land of Opportunities," "We Are Together," "Russia in the World," "All the Best for Children," "Leading Schools," "Teachers and Mentors," "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses," "Universities for the Generation of Leaders," and "Professionalism."
