      In Nizhny Novgorod, the Lenin Culture Palace is being demolished. Machinery has begun dismantling the central part of the facade, including the entrance group with columns and pediment. This was reported by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."

      It should be noted that the demolition of the building began in November 2025. At that time, the contractor started dismantling the emergency structures in the courtyard of the Culture Palace.

      Recall that the palace was built in 1927 but has not been used since 2008. During this time, it has caught fire multiple times and has fallen into a state of disrepair. In 2020, the property was transferred from municipal ownership to the regional administration.

      The building is now being prepared for a large-scale reconstruction — a multi-apartment building is planned to be built in its place. According to the project, 80% of the area will be residential, while the remaining 20% will be social facilities. Initially, the completion of the work was planned for 2026, but the deadlines have been pushed to 2028.

      Despite the fact that the building has been recognized as a cultural heritage site, only its external appearance is protected. According to the project, the facades will be restored in historical architectural solutions. Special attention will be paid to the mosaic panel, which has already been carefully dismantled and sent for storage. After restoration, it will return to its original place in the hall.

      The facades will be clad with materials as close as possible to the originals. The walls that are subject to protection will be covered with a thin-layer plaster over the brickwork.

      Earlier, it was reported that the Lenin Culture Palace and the Chekist House were proposed to be reconstructed with the funds of the shareholders.
