HC Torpedo beat Moscow Dynamo in overtime.

      Nizhny Novgorod HC Torpedo managed to secure a victory in a match against Moscow Dynamo. The game took place on January 12 at VTB Arena in the capital.

      In the first period the home team held the advantage in play. Their number of shots on goal in the first twenty minutes of the match was almost three times greater than the number of dangerous chances created by Torpedo.

      However, the only goal in that period was scored by Torpedo forward Maxim Letunov. He was assisted by Amir Garaev and Danila Zhuravlev. That happened in the 14th minute of the match.

      During the second period Dynamo players were able to equalize. Defender Daniil Pylenkov scored on the fifth minute.

      And in the third period the same player scored again — on the sixth minute. Just a few moments later Torpedo conceded a third goal. It was scored by 28-year-old Dynamo forward Pavel Kudryavtsev.

      Five minutes before the end of the match Yegor Sokolov scored a goal from a feed by American Bob Nardella. And in the final minute Yegor Vinogradov nonetheless equalized, sending the opponents’ third puck into the net.

      After a short break the players went into overtime. There — already in the second minute — Vinogradov completed a brace, snatching the victory for the Nizhny Novgorod club. Final score — 4:3.

      Currently HC Torpedo sits sixth in the Western Conference standings. Torpedo will play their next game at home against Yaroslavl’s Lokomotiv on January 14.

      Recall that in their previous match the Nizhny Novgorod team lost to Severstal by a score of 6:7.
