Construction of the fifth bridge across the Oka River in Nizhny Novgorod will begin in 2026.

In 2026 the Avtoban holding plans to begin construction of the fourth phase of the parallel road for Gagarin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod, which will include the construction of a new bridge across the Oka. This was reported on the company's official Telegram channel.
The bridge will link the Novinki settlement with Fuchik Street in the Avtozavodsky District. The project envisages two spans, and the total length of the bridge will be 1,035 meters. According to preliminary estimates, construction will take about two and a half years. Final deadlines will be set by a government commission.
Avtoban specialists are currently working on the second and third stages of the project. One hundred forty-eight people and 80 pieces of equipment are involved at the site. Overpasses are being built and utility networks are being relocated.
The overall readiness of the parallel road project is 43%. Completion of the third phase is expected in 2026, the second in 2027. Full completion of construction is planned for 2029.
Recall that construction of the parallel road began in March 2024. The project is being implemented under a concession agreement signed in December 2023 for a term of 30 years and 9 months. The total length of the route will be more than 12.3 km; the entire project is divided into four phases, and the investment volume reaches 64.4 billion rubles. The construction period is 4.5 years. The Gagarin Avenue parallel road project is viewed as a key element of the city’s future transport infrastructure. It is expected to significantly increase the capacity of the main roads and improve traffic conditions in Nizhny Novgorod.
The new bridge will be the fifth to cross the Oka in Nizhny Novgorod. In the summer the Interagency Commission of the Russian Ministry of Transport approved the allocation of a federal subsidy for its construction.
Earlier it was reported that two traffic lanes were opened on the old Borsky Bridge after repairs.
