More than 19,800 people found employment with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod Employment Center in 2025.

      In 2025 the Nizhny Novgorod Employment Center "Work of Russia" helped more than 19,800 citizens find jobs. That is 18% more compared to last year.

      "President of Russia Vladimir Putin noted during the direct line that unemployment in the country is at a record low — 2.2 percent. In the Nizhny Novgorod region the unemployment rate is even lower — it is now 0.01 percent. A record low figure, a historic minimum! At the same time, the Nizhny Novgorod region, like other federal subjects, faces the issue of a shortage of personnel in various fields. Enterprises in the real sector particularly need engineering and skilled trades specialists, and the Nizhny Novgorod Employment Center is working closely with employers and jobseekers to meet the economy's needs," emphasized Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Yegor Polyakov.

      Among those who sought help with employment were 1,125 pensioners, 1,609 pre-retirement-age citizens, 1,012 people with disabilities, about 200 participants in the special military operation, 97 parents of large families and other residents of the region.

      "Career counselors helped jobseekers find positions at industrial enterprises, social institutions, retail and construction companies, in the energy sector and in security. Citizens successfully filled vacancies ranging from manual labor to engineering specialties: lathe operators, sales-cashiers, drivers, chief project engineers, merchandisers, CNC machine operators, welder-operators, agronomists and many others," said acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod Employment Center "Work of Russia" Elena Vidyaeva.

      The leaders by number of placed jobseekers were traditionally the employment service branches in Nizhny Novgorod: Nagorny (3,600 people), Sormovsky (2,400 people) and Kstovsky (845 people). Among district branches the highest results were shown by the Pavlovsky (1,100 people) and Vyksunsky (1,000 people) branches.

      "In 2026 comprehensive support for residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the field of employment will continue under the national project 'Cadres.' As in the past year, citizens will be able to join training and professional development programs. In 2025 more than 6,000 people took advantage of this opportunity," added the head of the Department for Labor and Employment of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Igor Pantiukhin.

      Recall that since 2025, at the direction of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Cadres" has been in effect in Russia. It includes four federal projects: "Labor Market Management," "Active Employment Support Measures," "Education for the Labor Market," and "The Worker." The national project's activities are aimed at training personnel quickly and efficiently to meet employers' needs through coordinated work among educational institutions, companies and the state.

      It was reported that more than 1,700 Nizhny Novgorod residents found jobs thanks to mini job fairs.
