Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin personally inspected a complaint about the prolonged failure to officially declare a dilapidated multi-apartment building on Gvozdilnaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod as unsafe.
The building, constructed as early as 1932, is in a deplorable condition: the wooden floors are destroyed, the walls are deformed, the foundation is cracking, which has led to critically low temperatures in the first-floor apartments, there is no hot water, and the plastered surfaces in the entrance are crumbling.
Despite numerous complaints from residents to the relevant authorities, the building has not yet been officially declared unsafe. This issue has previously received wide coverage in the media and on social networks.
At present, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region is conducting an investigation into the matter.
Alexander Bastrykin demanded that Ayrat Akhmetshin, head of the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee, submit a report on the progress of the investigation and the results achieved.
The implementation of this order is under the control of the agency’s central authorities.
Earlier reports said that Alexander Bastrykin had taken an interest in the building on Vologdina Street in Nizhny Novgorod.
