Nizhny Novgorod road crews hauled away 142,000 cubic meters of snow over four days.

      Over the past four days, more than 142,000 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the streets of Nizhny Novgorod. These figures were announced on January 11 by the Department of Transport and Road Management of the city administration.

      As the department noted, the volume of snow removal in January 2026 set a new historical record.

      Before the start of the first working week after the New Year holidays, primary attention is being paid to the accelerated removal of accumulated snow. According to forecasts, as soon as tomorrow, January 12, snowfalls will return to Nizhny Novgorod, and the snow cover is expected to increase by another eight centimeters.

      District heads are conducting inspections of problem areas, keeping snow-removal issues under their personal control.

      It was previously reported that the authorities of Nizhny Novgorod have mobilized all available resources to fight the snow, including municipal enterprises, contractors and management companies.

      Also recall that on January 6 a meeting of the operational headquarters was held in Nizhny Novgorod to coordinate the actions of city services under snowy conditions.
