Nizhny Novgorod agricultural consumer cooperatives received subsidies totaling more than 43 million rubles in 2025.

Nizhny Novgorod agricultural consumer cooperatives received subsidies totaling more than 43 million rubles in 2025.

Thirteen agricultural consumer cooperatives in the Nizhny Novgorod Region received subsidies totaling 43.4 million rubles in 2025. According to Nikolai Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, this type of support has been provided since 2021, and 52 organizations have received it so far. "Over the five years this support measure has existed, more than 173 million rubles have been paid out. By developing cooperation today, we are laying the foundation for self-sufficient rural areas tomorrow. This is a way to reduce dependence on imports, create jobs, and preserve the village’s cultural heritage," Denisov said.

The subsidies allow agricultural consumer cooperatives to reimburse part of the costs of purchasing equipment. This year they purchased a combine harvester, a cultivator, a plow, tractors, a grain cleaning complex, equipment for preparing animal feed, a mower, a seeder, an irrigation machine, a telescopic loader, a forklift, conveyors, and a pasteurization unit.

Yulia Melnikova, chairperson of the Semenovsky Pischetorg cooperative, said the cooperative uses this support measure every year. "Reimbursing part of the costs significantly reduces our expenses, making the renewal of our material and technical base economically feasible. Last year we purchased a milk truck; this year we updated our fleet of equipment, which will allow members of our cooperative to harvest animal feed in a timely manner and will significantly increase the volume," she said.

According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, as of January 1, 2025, more than 60 agricultural consumer cooperatives are registered in the region, of which more than 30 are engaged in purchasing products. The main activities of the cooperatives are: milk collection and its sale to dairy plants; pasteurization and packaging of milk; processing of agricultural products: milk, meat, vegetables; packaging, processing, and sale of honey.
