      The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered that information be provided on the progress of the probe into a complaint by a resident of a multi-storey building on Vologdina Street in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the Information Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

      A Nizhny Novgorod resident drew attention to the unsatisfactory maintenance of the building systems on Vologdina Street.

      Despite a major roof renovation carried out in 2024 on the building, which was constructed in 1964, the work proved to be of poor quality; due to the defects the roof is leaking again, and an ice crust has formed in the under-roof space.

      It is noted that appeals to the competent authorities have yielded no results, and the violations have not been remedied.

      The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region has organized a procedural check into the situation.

      The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the head of the Investigative Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region to submit a report on the preliminary findings of the inquiry and the measures taken.

      Control over the execution of the instruction and the progress of the check is being exercised by the leadership of the agency’s central office.

      Earlier it was reported that Bastrykin took the case of a Nizhny Novgorod woman injured in "Novinki" under his control.
