All flights accepted by Nizhny Novgorod Airport have been diverted to Sheremetyevo.

      11 January 2026 09:50 Society — The V.P. Chkalov Nizhny Novgorod International Airport announced on its Telegram channel that all flights previously accepted as alternate destinations have now been redirected to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.

      Recall that due to difficult weather conditions in the capital, Russian carriers limited the acceptance of aircraft at Sheremetyevo Airport. This led to the Nizhny Novgorod air hub receiving five flights in one day as an alternate aerodrome.

      Passengers were handled by specialists from the respective airlines together with staff from the transport prosecutor’s office.
