In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the seasonal level of incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections remains. This was reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor.
From December 29, 2025 to January 4, 2026, about 17,000 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered in the region. According to laboratory monitoring, the circulating strains continue to be dominated by influenza A(H3N2) virus.
In addition, 109 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded during the said period.
According to specialists, the intensity of the epidemic process has decreased by 1.7 times compared with the previous week. This is primarily due to the fact that during the holidays and school vacations people seek medical care less often.
