Snow removal in Dzerzhinsk is carried out around the clock.

      In the first days of January, Dzerzhinsk received one third of the monthly precipitation norm. Despite the holidays, employees of the municipal budgetary institution (MBU) "Gorod" are working around the clock.

      Every day between 28 and 34 pieces of equipment go out to the streets of Dzerzhinsk and the settlements to clear snow and treat icy surfaces. Around 90 people manually clear and treat public transport stops and public spaces with a sand-and-salt mixture.

      Special attention is paid to cleaning the streets with the highest traffic intensity: Chkalov Avenue, Dzerzhinsky Avenue, Lenin Avenue, Tsiolkovsky Street, Leninsky Komsomol Avenue, Sverdlov Street, as well as Gaidar Street, Mayakovsky Street, Chernyakhovsky Street, Popov Street, Chapaev Street, Oktyabrskaya Street, Krasnoarmeyskaya Street, Pushkinskaya Street and the central streets of the settlements. About 800 tons of sand-and-salt mixture were used in the first four days of 2026.

      The director of MBU "Gorod", Yuri Mishenkov, explains that the cleaning is organized cyclically:

      – The first stage is spreading the sand-and-salt mixture on the roads. Over the next 4–5 hours the ice and snow thaw. After that a column of equipment goes out: from two to four machines work in tandem to remove the resulting mass. If the snowfall continues, the equipment either immediately goes out for repeated cleaning, or a new spreading cycle begins in order to prevent the formation of an ice crust.
