The price of Kvincenta — the Russian analogue of the popular drug Ozempic — has noticeably decreased in Nizhny Novgorod pharmacies. The price of the medicine fell by about 1,000 rubles, which is welcome news for patients with diabetes and people undergoing therapy for obesity. The price reduction was initiated by the company Promomed, which decided to increase the drug’s accessibility for a wide audience, writes Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of MIA "Stacionar-Press", on his Telegram channel.
As specified, the updated price tags appeared immediately in 38 of the largest pharmacy chains across the country, including Nizhny Novgorod. The manufacturer emphasizes that this is a planned price reduction, not a temporary holiday promotion.
At the same time, doctors remind: Kvincenta should be used for weight loss only after consulting a specialist. Nizhny Novgorod medics have already noted curious side effects of semaglutide, the drug’s active ingredient. The specialists promise to share details in the near future.
