Almost a billion will be allocated for the construction of a new school in Volodarsk.

      A modern school for 500 pupils is planned to be built in Volodarsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region. According to data on the public procurement portal, the tender for the construction works was announced by the administration of the municipal district.

      The starting price of the contract is 985.3 million rubles. The project will be funded from three sources — federal, regional and local budgets. Work must begin after the contract is signed and be completed no later than June 1, 2028.

      The project was developed by Inzhkomproekt LLC. The educational institution will be located in the prospective development area of Khozcentr Street. The school will operate a single shift, five days a week, and will cover all levels of general education — from primary to secondary (grades 1–11).

      The school building will be four storeys, including a technical basement floor, with a total area of more than 15,000 sq. meters. Inside there will be classrooms, workshops, play areas, a cafeteria, a medical unit, sports and assembly halls, as well as administrative and auxiliary premises. Separate lobbies and cloakrooms have been designed for different age groups.

      A gas block boiler house with a capacity of 1.6 MW will be built on the school grounds for heating and hot water supply. A garage with two parking spaces for service buses will also be built outside the main building.

      The school grounds will be landscaped: of the 2-hectare plot, more than half will be green space, and the building footprint will be about 4,600 sq. meters.

      Earlier the construction of the school in Volodarsk was announced by the governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin. During a live Q&A he noted that the project received support from the Ministry of Agriculture. Through the ministry, educational institutions will also be built in Lyskov and Chkalovsk. In four other settlements in the region, schools will be built under the federal program of the Ministry of Education for the construction of new educational institutions.

      Note that ensuring a comfortable educational environment for children is among the key tasks of the national project "Youth and Children", which has been implemented since 2025 at the instruction of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
