New Year's gifts were presented to participants of the special military operation in a military hospital.

The head of the People's Unity Fund, Petr Bannikov, and the director of the Presidential Academy National Research University, Ekaterina Lebedeva, visited fighters at the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after Academician N.N. Burdenko. They congratulated the participants of the special military operation undergoing treatment on the upcoming holiday, thanked them for their courage and heroism, and delivered gifts from the head of the region that had been purchased by the People's Unity Fund.

"Special military operation is a vital process for our country. It is being carried out so that no one ever dares to threaten our state again. People who take part in the SMO fight defending our Motherland — they are true heroes. Today we congratulated our fighters on the upcoming New Year. It is very important that they feel the attention and support of society," said the director of the People's Unity Fund, Petr Bannikov.

He emphasized that attention to servicemen undergoing treatment and rehabilitation remains an important part of support from regional authorities. He also spoke with the fighters and discussed with the hospital's leadership issues of providing medical care to servicemen.

Ekaterina Lebedeva, director of the Presidential Academy National Research University, expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the fighters for their selfless service and wished them a speedy recovery.

"From the Presidential Academy, the People's Unity Fund and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region we brought the fighters small gifts and greetings for the New Year and Christmas. Everyone we talked to is waiting to return to the ranks and to their comrades as soon as possible. And after victory the guys dream of family, work, study. We are waiting for all of them at our management institute," said Ekaterina Lebedeva.

The fighters, in turn, also expressed gratitude for the attention shown to them.

"There is nothing more valuable than human kindness and sensitivity. It is important to know that there are people who care about me; it means that everything I did there is needed for all of us. It means we are not just saying it, but truly together! The value of a gift is not in the amount of something, but in the attention that was given to us. There is nothing in life more precious than this human treatment," shared a fighter with the call sign "Chekh."

On the eve of the New Year, gifts will be given to all fighters of the special military operation who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in military hospitals and other medical facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
