The driver of a Lada Priora was killed in a crash near Pochinok.

      A fatal road traffic accident occurred on December 30 in the Pochinkovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The information about the accident was confirmed by the regional traffic police department.

      The tragedy occurred at around 13:40 at the 228th kilometer of the Nizhny Novgorod — Saratov highway. According to preliminary information, the 42-year-old driver of a Lada Priora attempted to overtake without ensuring the maneuver was safe. As a result, he collided with a Kia driven by a man born in 1970.

      The domestic car sustained serious damage in the impact. The Priora’s driver died at the scene before the arrival of emergency medical services.

      The driver and passenger of the Kia sustained injuries of varying severity and were taken to the hospital in the village of Pochinki.

      Police officers are working at the scene of the accident. All circumstances of the incident are being established.

      Earlier it was reported that on the M-7 highway near Dzerzhinsk a 71-year-old driver of an imported car was killed in a crash with a truck. And in the Volodarsky District four people were killed as a result of a collision between a heavy truck and two passenger cars.
