About 29 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were registered in the Nizhny Novgorod region for the period from December 22 to 28, 2025. This was reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor.
According to monitoring data, about 27 thousand people were examined during the week. The main cause of the increase in morbidity was influenza, which accounts for 86.3% of all detected viruses. The influenza A(H3N2) strain predominates among them.
In addition to influenza, rhinoviruses, respiratory syncytial viruses, metapneumoviruses, adenoviruses, bocaviruses, parainfluenza viruses and mycoplasma are also circulating in the region.
Rospotrebnadzor is urging parents with a strong recommendation not to bring children with signs of ARVI to childcare institutions. Residents who have not been vaccinated against influenza are also advised to refrain from visiting public places.
Organizers of mass and festive events are recommended not to allow symptomatic individuals to participate.
Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of the year residents of Nizhny Novgorod have bought about 1.5 million packages of antiviral drugs for more than one billion rubles.
