In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the average price of children's New Year’s costumes for matinees increased by 10% over the past year. This was reported by the portal "Zhivem v Nizhnem", citing data from the analytical center "Chek Index" of the company "Platforma OFD".
According to the center, the average spend on purchasing a New Year’s costume in December 2025 reached 1,753 rubles. At the same time, the number of purchases grew by 8% compared with the previous year. Analysts emphasize that the cost of costumes varies depending on the sales platform and their quality.
Prices for children's New Year’s costumes fluctuate widely: from budget models costing around 800 rubles to more expensive options priced above 5,000 rubles.
The peak demand for such goods falls in December, however a significant portion of costumes was sold in October and November during seasonal sales.
Among the popular children's New Year’s costume options this year, the leading looks are Spider-Man, Ladybug, Harry Potter, Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, as well as the traditional Bunny. In addition, parents have more often started choosing Russian national costumes for their children, such as kosovorotkas, sarafans and kokoshniks.
