Nizhny Novgorod doctors, nurses and pharmacists will be able to continue working even without accreditation — the Russian Ministry of Health is ready to grant a one-year postponement. The period in question runs from January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2027. The measure is formalized as a draft order and has already been published, said Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of the MIA “Statsionar-Press,” citing the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
First and foremost, the easing will affect specialists who worked in 2025 in medical or pharmaceutical positions, hold a relevant diploma, but faced the expiration of their certificate in that same year.
Operating room nurses, male nurses and anesthetists will also be permitted to work without accreditation in emergency situations. For the Nizhny Novgorod region, this measure could become a real way out of the deadlock. The region has accumulated many cases where doctors and pharmacists effectively lost the right to practice due to accreditation refusals. The Ministry of Health emphasizes: the postponement is not a cancellation of the requirements, but additional time to calmly complete the procedure and not interrupt service in the healthcare system.
