United Metallurgical Company (OMC) and the National University of Science and Technology "MISIS" have signed an agreement on scientific, technical and strategic cooperation for 2026–2030. The document provides for joint work on advanced technologies in metallurgy and the creation of new product solutions for various industries.

The five-year cooperation program includes 18 areas related to product quality control and the development of production technologies — from steelmaking to the production of rolled products from porous materials. In addition, the partners plan to explore the possibility of deploying robotic systems with machine vision at OMC enterprises. It is expected that this will reduce the impact of the human factor in technological operations and increase the reliability of supplies.

The company noted that the "MISIS" University is OMC's base university, and cooperation with it has continued for more than 20 years. Among recent joint developments is a technology for producing seamless pipes with enhanced corrosion resistance for oil production in challenging conditions, including wells with horizontal and inclined drilling. For this development, the scientific teams of OMC and MISIS University were awarded a gold medal at the Metal-Expo 2025 International Industrial Exhibition. The partners also continue to jointly train engineering personnel for industry.
