A payment of 100,000 rubles for the funerals of SVO fighters in Nizhny Novgorod has been approved.

      The administration of Nizhny Novgorod has introduced a new social support measure for families of servicemen killed in the area of the special military operation.

      According to decree No. 16418 of 25 December 2025, posted on the official mayor’s office website, relatives of the deceased will be paid a one-time compensation of 100,000 rubles. The funds are intended to cover expenses related to funeral arrangements.

      To receive the payment, next of kin must apply to the Department of Social Policy of the city administration. The application must state the deceased’s surname, first name, patronymic and date of birth, and must include a copy of the applicant’s passport and bank account details for the transfer of funds.

      The application must be submitted no later than the date of the funeral. After all necessary documents are submitted, the payment will be made within three working days.

      It was previously reported that a memorial will be erected in Dzerzhinsk to soldiers from Nizhny Novgorod who died in Afghanistan, Chechnya and in the special military operation.
