They want to start running a historic commuter train from Nizhny Novgorod to Prostokvashino.

      From Nizhny Novgorod to the village of Prostokvashino, a tourist electric train styled after a 1970s train (the very kind Uncle Fyodor rode in the famous cartoon) is planned to be launched. This is reported by "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Nizhny Novgorod."

      It is claimed that specialists are already restoring the rolling stock to recreate the atmosphere of a Soviet electric train as closely as possible: wooden benches, characteristic interior and decor.

      Prostokvashino is a real village located in the Tonkinsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, approximately 200 km from the regional center. The place is popular among travelers, especially families with children inspired by the cartoon.

      It should be recalled that a Fund to assist the Nizhny Novgorod village of Prostokvashino is planned to be created in the region. It was also reported that 5 million rubles will be allocated to the development of Prostokvashino's infrastructure.
