      A native of the Gorodetsky district, Alexey Zimin died while carrying out tasks in the zone of the special military operation, where he had been since the start of mobilization, the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the CPRF reports.

      Alexey joined the CPRF in August 2025. At that time he was on the front line, so the application was filed via video link. During his service the fighter was concussed five times and wounded five times; on January 1, 2026 he would have turned 33.

      "Alexey was a person of rare responsiveness and inner strength. Even while on leave he found time to help people," the regional branch of the CPRF said. According to the party, dozens of communists are participating in the special operation. Since the start of the SMO, eight people who had joined the regional branch of the CPRF have been killed in combat.
