The incident was recorded in the Avtozavodsky district of the city. The deceased, a 64-year-old man, had spent the last years of his life living with a certain woman. The man's wife and daughter, having begun searching for the burial site, found him in an unfamiliar grave that already had a monument for a certain Yakov Smirnov. This person had no relation to either the deceased or his partner. In addition, a plaque bearing the name of the deceased's father was installed on the grave, apparently trying to create the impression of a family burial, although his real father is buried in a completely different place. "We generally suspect a violent death or failure to provide assistance," say the deceased's wife and daughter.

      The Nizhny Novgorod resident was diagnosed with stage-2 encephalopathy and stage-4 cancer, and he also had the first disability group. Relatives claim that with such serious illnesses hospitalization is mandatory. However, the man died in his live-in partner's apartment, and she subsequently refused to allow an autopsy.

      It turned out that the deceased had no property: no real estate, no bank accounts, no car. Relatives assume that the woman, who called herself his common-law wife, appropriated all his belongings. The woman herself could not explain the situation.
