The cost of patents for migrants will rise in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2026.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, from the beginning of 2026 the cost of work patents for foreign citizens working in the region will increase. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" was told this by the region's Department of Labor and Employment.

      As of today, the monthly fixed payment for the patent is 9,276 rubles. However, in 2026 its amount will increase to 11,800 rubles.

      Thus, the Nizhny Novgorod region will rank second among the regions of the Volga Federal District in terms of the cost of a work patent. The leader in the payment amount will remain Samara Oblast. In 2026 the payment there will be 11,936 rubles.

      Note that the patent is required for migrants in Russia for legal employment. It is a permit that allows foreign citizens who entered the country without a visa to officially work for individuals or legal entities within the territory of a specific region of the Russian Federation.

      We also recall that in spring 2025 Nizhny Novgorod authorities introduced restrictions on employing foreign citizens and stateless persons working under work patents in certain sectors of the region's economy.
