      The Federal State Institution "Uprdor Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod" has announced a tender for the capital repair of a section of highway R-158 running through the Dalnekonstantinovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The work involves widening the stretch of the highway from kilometer 40 to kilometer 52 to four lanes. According to data on the public procurement portal, the starting price of the contract is 613.1 million rubles. Applications from potential contractors will be accepted from 1 December to 17 December 2025.

      Under the tender conditions, the selected company will have to carry out the overhaul of the road connecting Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Saransk, Issa, Penza and Saratov. Work must be carried out without interruptions and be completed no later than 15 July 2026.

      Recall that the deadlines for the completion of the specified section of R-158 have been postponed repeatedly. It ended with the contractor leaving the site. The FSI had to terminate the contract with it. Legal proceedings are currently underway. People are forced to sit in traffic jams because the carriageway is narrowed in places between km 40 and 52.

      During the November direct line, Governor Gleb Nikitin commented on the suspension of the capital repairs on the R-158 section. He then announced that work on the site would resume soon.

      By the way, another contractor successfully completed the widening of 23 km of R-158 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
