Nearly 70% of Nizhny Novgorod residents use AI in everyday life.
01 December 2025 15:52 Society Digital ecosystem of MTS and the MTS AdTech Analytics and Research Center conducted a study among residents of Nizhny Novgorod dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence technologies in everyday life. It turned out that almost 70% of the region's population regularly use neural network capabilities, with personal AI use scenarios being the most popular.
The study showed that in the Nizhny Novgorod region 29% of respondents use neural networks exclusively for personal purposes, 6% only for work tasks. Another 33% use AI both for personal needs and in professional activities. The remaining 32% of survey participants do not use artificial intelligence.
For personal purposes, neural networks most often help Nizhny Novgorod residents quickly find the information they need (26%) and create various texts (24%). Next comes creating pictures, videos and avatars (14%). Slightly less popular are consultations “like with a specialist” and learning new languages (8% and 6%, respectively). Studying, entertaining oneself or creating memes with the help of AI are rarely preferred.
When solving work-related issues, Nizhny Novgorod residents most often use artificial intelligence to write texts (24%), create banners, creatives, videos and illustrations (15%), search for information to solve business tasks (13%), and automate document flow and reporting (7%). Less often, Nizhny Novgorod residents use neural networks to assist in decision-making and hypothesis testing (6%), automatic checking and systematization of data (6%), computations (4%), as well as to solve other types of tasks aimed at optimizing routine processes and reducing labor costs.
The most popular services in January–November 2025 were Alice AI, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, GigaChat, Perplexity and Shedevrum (in alphabetical order), with every second person choosing domestic solutions. The leaders in popularity were DeepSeek among foreign products and Alice AI among Russian ones. On social networks ChatGPT was mentioned most often.
Neural networks are used most by people under 24 (25%) and those aged 35–44 (22%). They are less used by Nizhny Novgorod residents aged 25–34 (13%) and 45–54 (17%). Neural networks are also in demand among older people: among those over 55 and those 65 and older, one in ten uses them regularly. Among neural network users, 53% are women and 47% are men. One in ten neural network users is self-employed, invests or owns a business, and one in three has an above-average income.
The MTS AdTech study is based on anonymized data on logins of 32 million Russians to chatbots via desktop and mobile browsers, as well as available official applications. Monthly active audience is defined as the number of users interacting with the service at least once a month.
