GUMMiD: contracts for construction of the Nizhny Novgorod metro will be extended

      Municipal contracts for the construction of new metro stations in Nizhny Novgorod will be extended taking into account updated schedules. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by MKU "GUMMiD".

      Earlier it became known that the completion of the metro lines to the "Sennaya" and "Ploshchad Svobody" stations was postponed to 2027. A similar postponement affected the project in the Sormovsky district — now the completion of work there is expected in December 2029.

      As Governor Gleb Nikitin explained during a live Q&A, metro construction in the upper part of the city is complicated by the presence of historic buildings and cultural heritage sites. These circumstances require a special approach and additional time.

      GUMMiD confirmed: the contract for the central sections of the metro will be extended in accordance with the updated schedule, which has already passed state examination.

      As for the Sormovskaya line, the contract extension will take place after receipt of the examination conclusion on the updated design documentation.

      Earlier, projects showing the locations of the entrances to the "Ploshchad Svobody" metro station were published.
