Eight children's goods rental points opened in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

      Eight more rental points for newborn items have opened in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Now young families can borrow needed baby goods free of charge in various districts of Nizhny Novgorod and several districts of the region.

      Earlier, the opening of the child equipment rental points was announced by Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Gleb Nikitin during a live Q&A.

      The new centers have been opened at comprehensive social service centers in the Moskovsky, Sormovsky, Kanavinsky and Prioksky districts of the regional capital. They have also opened in the Balakhna, Semyonov, Bogorodsk and Pavlovsky districts.

      Similar facilities had previously been opened in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as in Gorodets and Arzamas.

      At each point you can borrow for a period items such as baby cribs, strollers, high chairs, playpens, changing tables, bathtubs, electric swings, walkers, infant carrycots and car seats. All of this is free, but by prior request.

      The rental service is available to families with children up to three years old who reside or are temporarily staying in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. At the same time, they must belong to one of the categories: large families, single mothers, students with children, families with children with disabilities, low-income families, young parents under 35, as well as families of participants in the special military operation. To receive the service, they will need to confirm their status with documents.

      Rental points can be contacted not only by residents of the districts where they are located. Families from other towns and settlements in the region can also take advantage of this opportunity. The rental period depends on the specific item and its intended use.

      According to the regional Ministry of Social Policy, this service has become part of the federal family support program "Demographic Menu", which is being implemented within the national project "Family".

      Deputy Minister of Social Policy of the region Vadim Tsyganov noted that from the very start the rental points have been in high demand — more than 300 families have already used this opportunity.

      It is planned that by the end of 2025 there will be 19 such points operating in the region.

      Earlier it was reported that Governor Gleb Nikitin urged Nizhny Novgorod employers to provide financial support to employees upon the birth of a child.
