More than 200 families took part in the city video festival "Mother's Heart" in the Avtozavodsky District ahead of International Mother's Day.

      More than 200 families took part in the Open City video festival "Mother's Heart" in the Avtozavodsky District ahead of International Mother’s Day. As the district administration reported, participants in the competition included residents of Nizhny Novgorod of all ages. To enter the contest, Nizhny Novgorod residents had to send the organizers a video on one of the selected themes: "Handy Mom" (mother’s favorite pastime, hobby), "Mom — Professional" (mom at work), "My Mom and I — Best Friends!", "The Art of Being a Mother" (a mother raising five or more children: biological/foster/ward), "My Mom’s Mom" (about a grandmother). "In each video you can see the sincerity and the children’s attitude toward their mother. After all, a mother is a person who will always forgive, accept and understand. Love for a mother cannot be compared to anything or exchanged for anything. I wish all mothers to love their children, to raise them to be worthy citizens so that our great Russia continues to prosper," said the head of the district, Alexander Nagin, during the winners’ award ceremony. As noted by the district administration, the Open City Festival "Mother's Heart" has been held since 2023. During that time more than 500 families have taken part. This year the contest was supplemented by the nomination "My Mom’s Mom," where children spoke about their beloved grandmothers. And the most popular category was "My Mom and I — Best Friends!", for which 90 entries were submitted. "Since Mother’s Day is coming up soon, I decided to take part in the city festival dedicated to this holiday. I chose the nomination 'The Art of Being a Mother'; while preparing the video I finally learned why my children are ready to say 'thank you' to me. It’s incredibly touching!" shared the contest winner Olga Ryabinina. The winners’ award ceremony took place at the GAZ Veterans’ House of the Avtozavodsky District. For the guests of the event, the conductor of the exemplary brass band and teacher at the A. I. Khachaturian Children’s School of Arts, Igor Nikolaev, performed compositions on the saxophone and an original song "Avtozavodtsy — A Close-Knit Family." Vocal numbers were also performed by students of Children’s School of Arts No. 1, Aigul Khusainova and Polina Artemova.

      Winners were presented with diplomas and gifts from the Avtozavodsky District administration.
