The Bank of Russia revealed which factors will determine the decision on the key interest rate.

      When making decisions on the key rate, the Central Bank of Russia relies on an economic development forecast that takes into account all available information on domestic and external factors. This includes data on prices, consumer spending and household saving activity, the state of production in various industries, as well as on investments and the country’s budget. This was reported by the Central Bank’s press service, 360.ru reports.

      At the regional level, experts from the Central Bank’s territorial divisions analyze the situation in the federation’s federal subjects. They use both official statistical data and information obtained at meetings with representatives of local authorities and businesses, including car dealers. This approach allows not only a more detailed study of the current economic situation but also the identification of potential trends and risks that may not yet be reflected in official statistics.

      Thus, in October passenger car prices in Moscow rose by 0.5% compared with September, and the year-on-year increase amounted to 1.9%. Among automakers officially represented in the Russian market, 16 companies raised prices in October. The largest price increases were recorded for the following brands: Ambertruck (+9.5%), Solaris (KRS model +4.4%) and Changan (UNI‑S model +3.9%).

      However, Moscow also saw price declines in some product categories. In particular, fats and oils, including olive oil, became cheaper. Prices for television and radio goods, tools and equipment also continued to fall. This is linked to a decline in demand for these goods amid a slowdown in consumer lending and a strengthening ruble, which made imported raw materials and products more affordable.

      Recall that at its October board meeting the Bank of Russia cut the key rate to 16.5%. The next Board meeting on the key rate is scheduled for 19 December 2025.
