Anton Evmenov: "I wouldn't want to lose Boselli for free"

      28 November 2025 16:25 Sport Sporting director of Pari Nizhny Novgorod Anton Evmenov, in an interview with the club's press service, spoke about the situation with Uruguayan forward Juan Boselli, whose contract expires in the summer. The club's management intends to discuss prospects for cooperation with the player, but the final decision will depend on his mindset and desire to stay.

      "The right moment will come, and we will definitely talk with Juan, moreover in his native language. We will need to understand his motivation, whether the player is ready for a dialogue with the club, how we will build further relations. Maybe he will say that his head is no longer with Pari NN. Based on these inputs, we will think about how to proceed," Evmenov said.

      The ideal scenario for the club remains a contract extension. If talks do not lead to an agreement, the club will look for alternative options. Evmenov stressed that losing the player for free is highly undesirable.

      "It's important to hear whether he is ready to stay here, after which we will base our actions on financial expectations — whether we can afford such a player or not. If it becomes clear that the contract will not be extended, then that's another matter. We would not like to lose Boselli for free. He is an asset of the club, worth a certain amount of money that we can consciously invest in replacing the player," he added.

      At the same time Evmenov noted that the Boselli issue is just one of many. Before the start of the vacation he plans to hold individual talks with all the team's players.

      Recall that earlier insider Ivan Karpov reported that Boselli does not intend to renew his contract with Pari NN. Allegedly the player is counting on a move to a more prestigious club.

      Talks about the forward's possible departure began back in the summer. At that time the club's general director David Melik-Guseynov denied the rumors, claiming that the player himself was not seeking to leave. Later sporting director Alexander Udaltsov said that the club had not received offers acceptable to all parties, and agreed with Boselli that he would finish the season in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Juan Boselli joined Pari NN in 2023. Previously he played for the Portuguese clubs Gil Vicente and Tondela. According to Transfermarkt, his transfer value is estimated at €1.2 million.
