An outbreak of leukemia among animals in Chkalovsk resulted in a quarantine.
21 November 2025 11:12 Society — Quarantine measures have been introduced in Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, following the detection of bovine leukosis. This is stated in the official order posted on the legal acts portal.
The restrictions affected private household farms in the village of Katunki and the village of Neverovo. Until the quarantine is lifted, it is prohibited to move animals out of the infected zone, as well as for unauthorized persons to enter the area.
In addition, farm owners have been instructed to strictly observe sanitary measures: to carry out regular disinfection of premises and areas where animals are kept. Keeping sick and healthy animals together is also prohibited.
Veterinary services are obliged to organize clinical examinations of the entire herd in the specified settlements. The measures are aimed at preventing the spread of the infection and protecting healthy livestock.
Earlier it was reported that cases of rabies in animals had been identified in 11 districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
