In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, preparations are underway to create a new autonomous non-profit organization — the "Center for Security Monitoring and Legal Counseling." The corresponding decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the City Duma held in August of this year.

The initiative is being implemented at the governor's instruction. The explanatory note to the draft establishing the ANO states that similar experience is already being successfully used in other regions of the Russian Federation. The new center will become part of the support system for former participants of the special military operation (SVO), helping them adapt to civilian life and find employment opportunities.

The document also states that 11.3 million rubles will be required to finance the ANO.

According to "Kommersant-Privolzhye," a total of 40 million rubles is planned to be allocated from the budget for the organization's activities in 2026.

Among the center's key tasks are participation in ensuring public safety and the prevention of offenses. At the same time, the document specifically notes that the new structure will not duplicate the work of existing security and specialized agencies.

Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod Region will allocate 416 million rubles for payments to security personnel in 2026.
