The wind blew down the fence at the construction site of the new cable car in Nizhny Novgorod.

      20 November 2025 17:00 Society The fencing of the construction site for the cable car that will connect the banks of the Oka in Nizhny Novgorod is being reinforced after the metal structures were damaged by strong winds.

      The Ministry of Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported that specialists have begun work to strengthen the structures in the area of the Zarechnaya metro station. Earlier, gusts of wind had overturned part of the temporary fencing.

      "The structures are now being reinforced taking into account possible wind loads. In addition, an additional inspection of the fences will be carried out across the entire construction site to prevent similar situations in the future," the ministry explained.

      Recall that the project to build a cable car across the Oka in Nizhny Novgorod began in August 2025. Completion of the main work is planned by the end of 2026.

      It was also reported that the cable car between Nizhny Novgorod and Bor was temporarily closed on November 18 due to weather conditions.
