Nizhny Novgorod's Chaika lost to Kuznetskie Medvedi in a shootout.

      In the first game against the Kuznetsk Bears, Nizhny Novgorod’s Chaika suffered a shootout loss — 3:4.

      The visitors opened the scoring as early as the first shift and doubled their lead in the 9th minute. By the end of the opening period the hosts had pulled level. Ivan Mullerov and Gleb Pugachyov scored — 2:2.

      In the second period the Nizhny Novgorod side created several dangerous chances but failed to convert them. The visitors, however, moved back ahead during a delayed penalty — 3:2.

      In the third period Chaika equalized only in the 57th minute, when Makar Glazunov converted a power play. The teams went to overtime at 3:3. Extra time did not produce a winner. In the shootout luck again turned away from Chaika.

      With 28 points, Alexey Tomilov’s charges remain in sixth place in the Gold Division of the Eastern Conference.

      Torpedo system teams have been having trouble in shootouts lately. On 18 November the main team lost to Admiral in a shootout, and the day before Torpedo-Gorky failed to convert a single attempt.

      The rematch between Chaika and the Kuznetsk Bears will take place tomorrow.

      Earlier it was reported that Nikita Artamonov, a forward from the Torpedo system, is going on loan to Neftekhimik.
