The booth featuring the Vyksa Shukhov Tower was named the best at the international industrial exhibition.
19 November 2025, 17:59 Economy United Metallurgical Company (OMK) received five prestigious awards for technological developments and was presented with a special prize for the best exhibit at the 31st International Industrial Exhibition "Metal-Expo 2025" (12+).
Three of the company's projects were awarded gold medals. They include the creation of a seamless hot‑rolled pipe with enhanced corrosion resistance, a thermomechanical processing technology for high‑strength steel plates according to GOST 27772‑2021, and the development of one‑piece rolled railway wheels of increased hardness designed for axle loads of up to 23,500 tonnes.
Silver was awarded to two other developments: a technology for producing thick plate from fifth‑generation 10Kh2M1 steel for petrochemical engineering, and the implementation of an advanced rolled‑product manufacturing technology for bridge construction through the technical regulation system. The second project was carried out by the Bardin Central Research Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy (TsNIIChermet) together with OMK scientists and other leading metallurgical enterprises.
OMK's exhibition stand, recognized as the best at the industrial exhibition, also deserved special attention. Its concept refers to the future Museum of Metal, which will be part of the industrial‑tourist "Shukhov Park" in Vyksa. The exhibition's architectural design included elements made of weathering steel, including electric‑welded pipes with diameters of 1020 and 1420 mm and a roofing membrane 5 mm thick. All materials were OMK products.
The centerpiece of the stand was one of Vyksa's symbols — a model of the restored water tower by engineer Shukhov, harmoniously combining industrial heritage and modern architectural solutions.
In addition to technical achievements, OMK was also recognized in the field of corporate communications. The company's newspaper "Territory OMK" and its online portal were named the best corporate media in the metallurgical industry of Russia and the CIS countries.
