Kuznechikhinsky Stream in Nizhny Novgorod was found to be clogged with garbage.

      In the Sovetsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, illegal dumps and a cluttered bed of the Kuznechikhinsky stream were discovered. The Nizhny Novgorod Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection after a complaint from a local resident.

      It was found that the stream's shoreline zone was overgrown with shrubs and littered with rubbish. Among the waste were construction materials, wood residues and household trash.

      To restore ecological order, the environmental prosecutor filed lawsuits with the court.

      The defendants in the case are the administration of Nizhny Novgorod and the Ministry of Ecology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The prosecutor's office is demanding that measures be taken to eliminate the dumps and clean the stream bed.

      The lawsuits are currently under consideration. The progress in eliminating the identified violations remains under the supervision of the oversight authority.

      Earlier it was reported that a dump and illegal structures were found in the Nizhny Novgorod national park.
