An additional 6.6 million rubles will be allocated to the cleanup of dump sites in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Another 6.6 million rubles will be allocated to eliminate unauthorized landfills in Nizhny Novgorod. This was announced at a meeting of the City Duma's standing commission on ecology by Yuri Mochalkin, director of the city's administration finance department, NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent reports.

      The official gave a report on another budget adjustment. According to him, it is proposed to reallocate 10 million rubles in spending for the Department of Improvement. Thus, an additional 3.4 million rubles will be directed to the installation, maintenance and repair of container sites, and 6.6 million to the elimination of unauthorized landfills. However, spending on comprehensive improvement measures for public areas will be reduced.

      Earlier it was reported that on November 13 another fire occurred at an illegal dump on Moskovskoye Highway. The regional Investigative Committee opened a criminal case, a report on which was requested by Alexander Bastrykin. The investigative department noted that there is a court decision ordering the site's elimination, but the work has still not been carried out. The Ministry of Ecology stated that in order to clear the dump on Moskovskoye Highway it is necessary to change the boundaries of Nizhny Novgorod. The agency made this argument to the court, which postponed the deadline for the dump's elimination by 18 months — until March 2027.
